Trust is a Must

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5–6
✦ ✦ ✦

This week I have really been convicted in the area of trust. I struggle here because I want to be in control, and being uncertain of the future can be confronting — especially when others have let me down countless times. The thing I need to remember, though, is that God is not like man; he never lets us down. I need to make a choice every single day to place my heart in God's hands, even when I don't understand. It is not about perfection — all I need to do is trust that he will lead me while I am still learning, growing and healing.

Journaling for the week

What is the one area of your life that you need to let go of? This week, take a moment with God and ask him what letting go of control would look like in your life. Write down how it feels to finally surrender to his perfect plan.

A guided prayer

Heavenly Father, I ask that you would help me to trust you in a deeper way. I no longer wish to lean on my own understanding, but instead to trust your plan for my life and to know that you are always in control. Give me the courage and wisdom to keep walking, day by day, in faith — knowing that you will lead me step by step into your plan and purpose for my life. Amen.
