Shalom: Peace in the Storm
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
This week the Holy Spirit has led me to a place of peace, and it is not because all of a sudden my battles have ceased and all my prayers have been answered. It is simply because I finally started to understand that I am not alone in this fight and Jesus is right with me, just like he was with the disciples in that boat. The disciples were right in the middle of a very dangerous, life-threatening storm and they thought they were on their own, but they weren’t — because Jesus was right there. Yes, in this case Jesus spoke to the storm and it ended. However, I have peace in knowing that even though my storm hasn’t ended yet, I will make it through because of my Saviour and King, Jesus.

What is one prayer that you want to leave at God’s feet today?
A guided prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you that your peace doesn’t depend on my circumstances. When the waves are high and the boat feels small, remind me that you are right here in it with me. Quiet my anxious heart, steady my mind on you, and help me trust that I will come through this — not because the storm has ended, but because you have never once left my side. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
