Let Go and Let God
“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”
What does it mean to truly surrender? This is something that I have struggled with. The thing is, I want to know all the answers and how things are going to turn out — because I want to be in control. However, I have come to realise that if I want God to truly move in my life, I have to stop holding on so tightly and just let God do what needs to be done, his way.
Journaling for the week
I heard a saying in Bible study recently: “Without God we cannot, and without us God cannot.” This means that yes, we need God to save us, heal us, and provide for us — but we also have a big part to play. We are called to do three things: trust him, listen to his voice, and walk in obedience every day.
A guided prayer
Lord, I surrender all to You this day. I will forever trust, listen, and obey You. I know You have great plans for my life, so I let go of control and place my life in Your hands. Let Your will be done in my life, because Your plans are higher than mine. I pray this in Your mighty name, Amen.
